The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

We don't really know much about the U-S stamps that are being issued in the second half
of the year. Much of the information we've gotten has come through the back door.

But now we know some of the stamps that are NOT being issued.

The Postal Service confirms it won't issue an Ingrid Bergman stamp, which it had never
announced. That probably means no Legends of Hollywood stamp for the second year in a
row.

And we're not going to see Science Fiction Writers this summer...just days after
confirmation that the five honorees were Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick,
Ray Bradbury and Frank Herbert.

 Now we're told the set is on hold — lost in the asteroid belt, no doubt.

Is it a result of belt tightening at the Postal Service? Or the change last December in
the leadership of the department that handles stamps?

We don't know. But we do know the U-S stamp schedule is always a work in progress.
