Jeanette Knoll AdamsCandidate for Director At Large (Second Term)As I near the end of my first term as an APS Director, I continue to see major challenges ahead for the APS and the hobby. I believe that my past service on the Board, plus my philatelic, personal, and professional experiences all qualify me to address these challenges during a second term in office. My primary interests in organized philately continues to lie with local clubs and shows, beginning and intermediate adult and youth collectors and exhibitors, and all collectors who wish to grow in philatelic knowledge. Strengthening the foundations of the hobby plus effectively representing all members of the APS will continue as my focal point during my service on the Board. My collecting interests are diverse and range from the postal history of Scotland to that of the town of Santa Claus, Indiana. I especially collect postal stationery, postal history, bananas, figure skating, and all aspects of Great Britain's philately, and have been a collector for part of my childhood and most of my adult life. Concerning my personal and professional life, I am married to an active philatelist and am the parent of a teen philatelist. I am a nonpartisan staff attorney for the Indiana state legislature specializing in education law and legal writing. This work has taught me to work well with a variety of individuals in settings that are sometimes charged with the emotion of strongly held feelings. I can be an effective participant in group decision making in difficult situations. Here are some of my philatelic experiences:
