Charter member Norm Walker (right) received the American First Day Cover Society's
Distinguished Service Award Saturday at AMERICOVER '99. He was cited by
Linn's first day cover columnist Allison Cusick as a mentor to many
first day cover collectors. The DSA is the Society's highest award, and is not bestowed every year.
Earl Lowenstein and Sharolyn and Gary Chicoine received the Glenn C. Michel
service award, for their work at AMERICOVER shows and, in particular, at
the AMERICOVER youth booths. The Chicoines were not able to attend this
year's show (Sharolyn is a member of this Forum), but Earl is shown here.
