“Stamps are miniature works of art.” RUNS :02

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

At the recent World Stamp Show-New York 20-16, where the National Park Service Centennial
stamps were issued, I caught up with the Postmaster General of the United States, Megan
Brennan, and asked if stamps are still important.

“Oh, absolutely! Absolutely. You can see, judge just by the turnout here at the World
Stamp Show. the interest in collecting stamps.

LdeV: “Are there stamps YOU’D like to see? Your predecessor liked cars. Any subjects YOU
are particularly fond of?”

PMG: “I’m actually fond of the beautiful vistas, so that’s why this new stamp appeals to
me, representing 16 parks, the beautiful byways, the scenic vistas of this great country.

LdeV: “Are we likely to see more things like that in the future, more stamps like this?”

PMG: “I obviously consult and work with our Citizen Stamp Advisory Committee, but you
can count on it.” RUNS :33

In fact, mailers who aren’t necessarily collectors ALSO often ask for pretty stamps.
