We're laughing at you.

The Stamp Collecting Report. I'm Lloyd de Vries.

The stamp collecting message boards on the Internet are full of them: Sarcastic references to
"eBay lot of the day." Or messages titled "Wishful Thinking eBay lot."

Click on the links in the messages, and you'll find gems like a dirty stamp with a big piece
missing. Or a very common stamp at a very inflated price. One of my favorites was the seller
who used thumb-tacks to put his items on a corkboard so he could photograph them.

Before you try to sell Grandpa's stamp collection on eBay, do your homework. Most public
libraries have a Scott stamp catalogue. Try to find your stamps in it, to get an idea what
they're worth. There's a minimum value of 20 cents for even the least desirable stamps... but
some sell for FAR less.

If you really think you have something valuable, get some expert help.

EBay makes money on every listing whether it sells or not.

All being unrealistic does is waste your money...and provide stamp collectors with a good
laugh.
