What's in YOUR Attic?

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

Many people find or inherit stamp collections, and don't know what to do next. If you're one
of them, says Joe Savarese of the American Stamp Dealers Association, bring it to the big
international stamp show in Washington, under way now.

"They're not collectors, they have no idea what it is or what it's worth, and we thought this
would be a good opportunity for these people to come to the show and get an appraisal."

You don't have to bring the whole thing, just enough to give an idea of its nature.

"If it has no value, and sometimes, you know, people collect stamps just for the pure enjoyment
of it and really, some of it has very little value, they could either donate it or perhaps they
might decide that maybe this is something they would like to get into."

If it turns out it IS valuable, you may be able to sell it to a dealer right there at Washington
Two Thousand Six. If you can't make the show, the A-S-D-A, in Glen Cove, New York, can send you
a list of potential buyers in your area. Or check its Web site at A-S-D-A-online-dot-com.

And that's Stamp Collecting this week.
