Get 'em while they're COLD.

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

The new U-S postal rates kick in next Sunday, June 30th, and despite the
Postal Service's best efforts, many people will wait until Monday or Tuesday
to buy stamps....making long lines..

Your post office should have new stamps for the new rates already, as well
as three-cent stamps for the difference in rates. Go now.

Also, if you've been waiting to buy some of the commemorative stamps already
issued this year, such as Year Of The Horse or West Point, you'd better
hurry. Many post offices have sold down their stocks of 34-cent stamps.

They're still valid for postage, though, and you can order them via the
800-STAMP-24 number or at U-S-P-S-dot-com. If you decide to use them, just
remember to add a three-cent stamp.

The Heroes of 2001 surcharged stamp, at 45 cents, is good for first-class
postage both now and AFTER the rates go up, and the price stays the same.
Only the amount that goes to charity will change.

And that's stamp collecting this week.
