Life Chapter #3
Welcome to the San Antonio Philatelic Association (SAPA)! Our club was formed in 1896 and has been meeting continuously ever since. The club is a life member of the American Philatelic Society and the Texas Philatelic Association.
We are located at the MacArthur Park Lutheran Church, 2903 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, TX 78217.
We are one of the few stamp clubs that still meets every week! We meet on Fridays at 7:30 PM. Our monthly schedule is usually as follows:
- First Friday - Business meeting and short presentations by members
- Second Friday - Stamp auction
- Third Friday - Program presented by members
- Fourth Friday - Stamp bourse
And we are always reviewing stamp circuits from other clubs, using the club library, and conducting stamp exchanges.
We presently have over 120 members. Juniors, between 12 and 18 years of age, are welcome to join when sponsored by their parents.
We publish a bi-monthly newsletter, The Philatex.
Attention show cachet collectors: we have a supply of stamped cachet envelopes for various SAPA-organized shows still available. Contact us for details.
