You can access a selection of REPRINTED ARTICLES from our Journal, "The Mayflower".
The Club was founded in 1954 and caters for all levels of United States collector from novice to advanced specialist. We cover the whole field of United States philately including stamps, postal history, stationery, US possessions, Confederate States, locals, revenues, duck stamps, and all other back-of-the-book items, pre-stamp period, proofs, and essays.
We are one of the largest specialist societies in the United Kingdom. Our members are mainly from the UK, but some reside in the United States and mainland Europe, and as far afield as New Zealand. We have an annual weekend convention in October. The location varies within the UK. Local meetings are arranged when members want them. We operate an exchange packet and a library for members within the UK (regrettably these facilities are only available to UK members to comply with our insurance requirements).
The Club issues a quarterly journal, The Mayflower, which includes Club news, articles and a postal auction, and have published a series of monographs on such diverse subjects as street car RPOs, the 2c Black Jack, and the United States Postal Agency in Shanghai, China. The Club also issues a comprehensive annual listing of all United States new issues. Contact our Editor (see above) for further details.
The Club's logo features the Pilgrim Father's ship, "The Mayflower", representing the continuation of the historical link between Great Britain and the USA through philately. Lapel badges bearing the logo are available.
New members pay an entrance fee of £5 in addition to the annual subscription, which is currently £8. Sustaining membership is available for five years at a cost of £40. This pays for membership for that period irrespective of any increases in the annual subscription rate.
